As a Test Engineer II, you will play a critical role in supporting the full lifecycle of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic testing for our products—from initial design and development through manufacturing and field deployment. Your primary responsibility will be to plan, execute, and analyze comprehensive testing activities that verify product functionality, performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term reliability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including reliability engineering, design, manufacturing, regulatory, quality assurance, and laboratory operations to ensure that products meet stringent specifications and that our test processes continuously improve.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and participate in all stages of product development and production with a focus on safe and effective electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic testing and validation.
Develop, document, and implement detailed test plans and procedures for fuel dispenser components, payment systems, and assemblies.
Maintain a safety-first approach by identifying and mitigating hazards during testing through appropriate safeguards and control systems.
Partner with design and reliability engineering teams to define and refine test requirements that confirm product robustness and regulatory compliance.
Support validation efforts of electrical hardware and firmware/software through functional, environmental, and accelerated life testing.
Drive continuous improvements by developing lab and test technology roadmaps aligned with organizational and market needs.
Analyze test data and equipment performance to identify failure modes and product issues; propose and implement corrective actions.
Lead root cause analyses (RCA) for test failures and field returns, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
Troubleshoot and resolve test equipment problems to ensure safety, test continuity, and maximize equipment uptime and utilization.
Utilize a variety of test equipment and automated test systems including in-circuit testers, functional testers, materials analyzers, FCC/EMC test setups, environmental stress screening, and accelerated life test platforms.
Maintain and update comprehensive test documentation including protocols, reports, and failure analysis records.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and accuracy.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, promoting best practices in test engineering and product quality.
Manage electrical test data and actively contribute to Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) processes.
Collaborate with external regulatory and certification bodies such as UL, CUL, ATEX, and CENAM to ensure compliance with relevant test standards.
