Under direction of a Principal Engineer, the incumbent will apply water resources engineering principles to assist in the development and evaluation of Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) at projects sites and the development decision support tools to assist in the implementation of FIRO. Work assignments completed by incumbent will be of moderate scope and require adequate knowledge of numerical modeling and analysis of reservoirs and managed river systems, practical knowledge of computer coding, and good communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of engineering principles and methods in order to independently perform professional engineering design work of limited scope and complexity.
Working knowledge of water resources engineering principles and methods to assist in a full range of professional water resources engineering studies and evaluations.
Working knowledge necessary to begin independent application of principles, practices and procedures in the completion of assignments.
Organizational abilities and decision-making to prioritize work assignments.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative manner, to assist in identifying any challenges or barriers.
Practical knowledge of computer coding in Python and other languages for the analysis of data and the development of hydrologic simulation models.
