Description: SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position’s primary role is the development and operation of quality control systems, application, and analysis of testing and inspection procedures. This position also utilizes methodology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Accountable for completing assigned Quality Engineering deliverables. Sets up quality requirements in the system for inspection. Oversees the ISO processes, procedures, methodologies and ensures Jor-Mac’s adherence to them. Effectively investigates and ensures the timely closure of customer complaints. Reviews supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and capability study information. Evaluates the conformity of projects to the documented process. Ability to effectively interact with vendors, customers, and cross functional teams relative to quality issues. Ensure the timely closure of Corrective Actions; conducts investigations; and any additional non-conformance investigations. Produce quality reports, analyze information, and address and resolve problem areas. Evaluates and recommends quality concepts of probability, statistics, and data analysis to make decisions. Assess current processes and identify ways to streamline or improve. Conducts quality audits based on appropriate regulatory and procedural requirements, including ISO requirements. Ensure compliance with all housekeeping procedures and all quality and safety regulations. Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques and quality assurance plans. Other duties as assigned or required. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree; three years of previous quality engineering experience or equivalent combination of experience and education. Familiarity with ISO standards and certifications. Proven problem solving skills with and use of statistical analysis. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Previous experience in GD & T, use of a ROMER arm, CMM, and PC-DMIS software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to require to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to walk and continuously stand. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
