Job Description
The Quality Engineer (Automotive) will: Support root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions for internal and external quality issues.
Promote a strong quality culture focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific quality requirements.
Act as the primary quality liaison with customers and suppliers, addressing concerns and driving resolution.
Prepare and coordinate PPAP submissions for customers and suppliers.
Design, implement, and maintain SPC systems and quality metrics; analyze data using tools like Minitab.
Conduct Measurement Systems Analysis (e.g., Gage R&R, bias studies) to validate inspection processes.
Maintain and manage the Nonconforming Material Report (NCMR) system.
Assist in the development of product and process specifications with engineering teams.
Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.
Lead or support Continuous Improvement initiatives across production and quality functions.
Recommend, procure, and provide training on inspection and test equipment as needed.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Quality Engineer (Automotive) will be respsonsible for: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) with 5+ years of quality experience.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment certified to ISO 9001; IATF 16949 experience preferred.
Experience with Automotive Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans).
Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001; IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
Proficient in statistical analysis and quality tools (SPC, Minitab, etc.).
Strong understanding of Measurement Systems Analysis (e.g., Gage R&R).
Familiarity with customer and supplier PPAP processes.
Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on experience with inspection and test equipment.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
