QA Systems Engineer II

A major and well-established company is seeking a QA Systems Engineer II for its high-volume manufacturing facility located east of the Atlanta metro area. The QA Systems Engineer II serves as a key liaison between the company and its customers, ensuring the integrity of the quality management system and compliance with industry and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary customer contact for pass-through product quality, including APQP/PPAP activities, issue resolution, and warranty analysis/reporting.
Manage the internal Quality System audit program: develop schedules, train auditors, lead audits, report results, and resolve non-conformance issues.
Support and maintain IATF 16949 automotive certification by interfacing with 3rd-party registrars and coordinating audit activities.
Lead quality improvement projects, implement process changes, and maintain quality system documentation.
Oversee adherence to internal, industry, and customer standards and ensure continuous compliance.
Participate in customer quality audits and meetings to support quality system certifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor and analyze system performance and deliver quality reports.
Support broader Quality Systems initiatives as needed.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in quality systems within a manufacturing environment.
Proven knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive industry standards.
Certified internal auditor with experience managing Quality System audits.
Familiarity with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and vision systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional task teams.
Strong project management and change management skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervising and directing assigned employees.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit for extended periods.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
