Job Title: Protection and Controls Applications Engineer

Location: Forest Park, Georgia

Type: Contract

Compensation: $40.00 hourly

Contractor Work Model: Hybrid- 4 days on-site (typically Monday-Thursday) with Friday remote. Candidate must be able to work on-site 4 days/week.

System One is currently seeking a
Protection and Control Applications Engineer on a 5 month contract position located in
Forest Park, GA.

P&C Applications Engineer Responsibilities:

Apply standard philosophies and settings to distribution substation capital projects
Apply requested settings changes from Distribution Reliability work groups
Review distribution substation prints and protection schemes for dependability, reliability, and security, including protection zones and P&C equipment applications
Complete power system modeling and fault studies for requests, customer support, and capital projects
Manage relay asset information in CAPE and STOMP repositories
Complete deliverables that comply with applicable NERC, SERC, and other industry standards.

P&C Applications Engineer Requirements:

Introductory engineering knowledge
Basic problem-solving skills
Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor
Basic understanding of business unit software including CAPE, STOMP, and Vault
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with field staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors
0-5 years of related experience
An accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.
