Title: Project Engineer
Location: Remote (Must have prior experience in the Natural Gas Industry)
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $38–54/hour

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Project Engineer. This opportunity is with a team offering challenging projects, leadership opportunities, and a flexible remote work environment.

Job Duties:
  • Conduct final technical reviews, including pre-PM reviews and AFC releases.
  • Apply advanced understanding of codes, standards, and client expectations.
  • Lead client meetings and calls with oversight from the Project Manager.
  • Approve scopes of work, assess risks, and lead with a solutions-driven approach.
  • Provide workflow direction and estimate allowable hours.
  • Report project status and team workload to clients.
  • Understand and apply client-specific cost estimating procedures.
  • Track project performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure all assignments are completed on time and within allowable hours.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Prior experience in the Natural Gas industry.
  • Strong independent work ethic with the ability to succeed in a remote setting.
  • Advanced technical comprehension and ability to understand unique engineering concepts and calculations.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient in forecasting design challenges and addressing safety and PPE concerns.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
