This dynamic opportunity within the newly integrated Power and Controls (P&C) Engineering Shared Services team offers the chance to drive meaningful change in an area traditionally underserved by project-focused initiatives. Based at the Rockford campus, this position reports to the Engineering Shared Services Common Project Team Manager and plays a central role in enabling cross-functional success.
As a Project Engineer II, Engineering Services , you will be a critical connector across multiple disciplines—including Product Design and Definition (PDD), Structures, and Product Engineering. You’ll be responsible for planning, coordination, and project tracking that supports key engineering efforts within the P&C PDD and Structures organizations in Rockford, Illinois.
What You Will Do
Ensure adherence to group project engineering discipline to ensure excellent project execution and process improvement
Assist in planning PDD and Structures teams work scope
Support new project estimating, including risk assessment and planning
Interface with Earned Value teams, program teams, engineering product teams to ensure level-loaded and accurate representation in workload planning tools
Interface with PDD and Structures managers for assignment of individual contributors (both prior to, and during project execution)
Support priority assessments
Ongoing risk and change management
Track activities against plan and manage work scope, clearly communicating any challenges or changes to key stakeholders
Ensure regular and clear communication to all key stakeholders
Drive retrospective project review, including report-out and feedback to estimating
Identify/develop, and continuously improve planning/tracking tools, approaches, standard work
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Qualifications We Prefer
Project engineering experience
Experience working in the aerospace industry or related field
Microsoft Office Tools experience, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
Experience working as a liaison between multiple departments
Experience with risk management & change management
Coordinating and scheduling work

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
