Duties & Responsibilities:
Planning, design, and construction of civil & transportation projects focused on Aviation development
Perform and lead design tasks or projects including supervising junior staff
Typical projects require the preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications) including horizontal and vertical layout, site development, grading, drainage, pavement design, marking, signage, erosion control, coordination with other disciplines, water & sanitary utilities, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction scheduling
Support the client manager in providing service to and developing relationships with existing aviation clients
Perform project management and coordination of multi-disciplined tasks necessary to implement projects for clients in our aviation group
Perform, assist, or oversee construction-related tasks including on-site construction observation and project engineering
Assist in business development activities including prospective client outreach, submittal preparation, and community engagement
Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. A Master’s degree in advanced studies will be recognized in the evaluation process
Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience with demonstrated technical design & construction expertise in transportation, civil site development, and civil infrastructure projects including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specifications. Aviation experience is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills will be preferred
Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and/or Wisconsin is required
Demonstrated skills and a working knowledge of AutoCAD for use in civil & site design projects
Skill using Civil 3D for site modeling, design, and analysis is preferred
Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important
Must be willing to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignments to meet project demands
Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
