Type: 2 yrs contract with possible extension Full Time or Part Time: Full time Pay Rate: $60.00 - $65.00 per hr Location: Orlando, FL 32839 Language Requirements: Write, read, and speak English fluently Job Overview: Drive the future of infrastructure with us — we're seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead innovative DOT projects that impact communities across the state. The selected licensed Professional Engineer will perform project management and professional engineering work, transforming regional transportation networks, improving safety, efficiency, and sustainability for millions of daily commuters. Provides supervision over one or more major engineering activities. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the designated supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering and roadway design Must be registered in Florida as a Professional Engineer Assisting with contract administration for Capital Improvement Projects for major highway improvement projects, bridges, paving sidewalks, etc., to include the preparation of the scope of work, consultant selection, and contract negotiations Experienced in engineering design and construction plan review, preparation of cost estimates, public involvement and preparation of bid documents Assisting with the coordination of right-of-way acquisition for roadway and other projects Experienced in providing right-of-way engineering support throughout roadway planning, roadway design, land acquisition and eminent domain process Administer costs to cure engineering contracts to support the appraisal function Assisting in developing cost estimates for right-of-way acquisitions Proven experience working with DOT regulations and projects Experience Preferences: Experience with FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) projects is strongly preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to walk on uneven terrain and access construction sites, bridges, and embankments.
May lift up to 25 lbs. (plans, equipment).
Prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional standing during site visits.
Visual and hearing acuity for reading plans and working in field environments.
Exposure to outdoor conditions and use of PPE (e.g., hard hats, safety vests).
Occasional travel to project sites required.

There is no minimum mileage requirement for this role; however, occasional travel to local site locations may be required on an as-needed basis. 62.5 cents per mile reimbursement applies only to mileage exceeding 40 miles per week.
