PURPOSE:
Responsible for generating and executing VICO cost savings projects; managing key strategic projects; and creating, standardizing, and maintaining labor models.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for Identifying and executing VICO cost saving project opportunities
- Maintain cost savings project hopper, meeting monthly and annual savings targets
- Engage stakeholders to assess feasibility, develop detailed project plans, present plans to management, and execute while meeting time, cost, and scope requirements
- Lead cross functional teams to execute key business initiatives that span multiple facilities/product lines
- Creation of capital authorization request documents, and execution/tracking of project spending across multiple plants
- Support new product implementation by planning/participating in validation runs and championing projects to address new manufacturing processes
- Develop manufacturing standards for new products and maintain existing standards
- Periodically review manufacturing processes and use lean manufacturing methodology to identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency
- Audit labor standards to ensure accuracy and coordinate with all plants to standardize best practices
- Frequent travel required to support business objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- 4 year Engineering degree minimum. Advanced degree a plus.
- 3-5 years as an engineer in an industrial environment
- Completion of a variety of capital projects in an industrial setting
- Demonstrated project management/leadership roles with complete project ownership
- Requires working in an industrial manufacturing environment including wearing hearing and eye protection as other potential PPE gear as required.
- Knowledge of and experience with Lean and Six-Sigma processes.
- Frequent travel required to support business objectives
- Prefer candidates to be in an East Coast MTS plants.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, knell, bend, twist, and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to speak and communicate with other employees, be able to hear well enough to recognize warning signals, forklifts, and announcements. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor office and manufacturing environments. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required in manufacturing settings. Safety glasses are required. Varied schedules, travel, and weekend work required.
