About the Job
The Process Engineer will improve manufacturing processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, exceed customer quality, and maximize profitability. The Process Engineer will be responsible for providing support to the Production and Sales areas as needed.
Responsibilities
Evaluate manufacturing equipment for capabilities of processing to specification and operator conformance to processing specifications for possible modifications that would improve quality
Statistically analyze critical products factors as they relate to product performance against customer
Collaborate with plant QA and other personnel on supplier related issues that prevent the manufacturing process from producing expected results/materials.
Collaborate with plant QA and other personnel on corrective actions needed to overcome processing problems
Support sales through written reports, technical data, laboratory samples and technical assistance through direct customer
Participate in key customer visits with sales engineers and account managers
Research and develop new recipes, compounds, fabrics, methods etc.
Responsible for Material Review Board sign-off authority
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
S. Degree Engineering, Chemistry, or similar technical field
2 - 5 years of technical experience in the polymer processing industry
Experience in polymer compounding, mixing, extrusion, coating, or calendaring preferred.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Analysis and 5S are a plus
Excellent technical writing & oral communication skills
Ability to communicate and work with Sales, Production, Suppliers and Customers

Occasional travel within U.S., with potential international travel as necessary
