The Hinckley Company, known for building and servicing, strong, seaworthy and beautiful yachts is seeking a Process Engineer focusing on composites for our production facility in Trenton, Maine.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization: Developing and optimizing manufacturing processes from start to finish, including workflow, equipment layout, and operational procedures.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during production, including equipment malfunctions, process inefficiencies, and quality control problems.
Process Improvement: Continuously analyzing existing processes and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Equipment Evaluation and Selection: Assessing the suitability of existing equipment for new processes and recommending or designing new equipment as needed.
Quality Control: Ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration: Working closely with other engineers, production teams, and management to implement process improvements and ensure smooth operations.
Documentation and Reporting: Creating and maintaining process documentation, including standard operating procedures and test results, and preparing reports for management.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all processes and equipment adhere to safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment.
Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data related to production, efficiency, and quality to identify areas for improvement.
Project Management: Managing projects related to process improvement, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
Research and Development: Conducting research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes and technologies.
Cost Reduction: Identifying opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs through process optimization and waste reduction.
Requirements: B.S. in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred but not required.
Minimum two (2) years manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Marine or automotive industry experience preferred.
Expertise in analyzing, processing and presenting data for problem solving and management review.
MRP/ERP systems experience, preferably in small/mid-size company environment.
Quick learner, ability to adapt to changing work environment, ability to handle multiple priorities, detail oriented, maintain. professional positive attitude; ability to work under pressure with minimal direction or supervision.
Experience and proficiency with Solid Edge, AutoCAD, and/or Rhino skills are preferred.
Previous experience with fabric cutting CNC (Eastman C-135, Gerber Z1, etc.) preferred.
