Process Chemical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Process Chemical Engineer to join our team. This role involves guiding the development of new chemical processes, scaling up production from the lab to the pilot plant, and providing support throughout the production process. This is a high-level position with leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with chemists to guide the development of new chemical processes.
  • Translate chemical processes into executable instructions for operators.
  • Guide operators through production processes and scale-up challenges.
  • Provide flexible solutions when processes do not scale as expected.
  • Assist other engineers with difficult scale-up situations.
  • Provide supporting documentation such as batch records, specifications, hazard sheets, and safety review packages.
  • Conduct safety meetings and oversee the execution of processing.
  • Participate on the production floor and review executed batch records.
  • Interact closely with chemistry and quality departments throughout the production process.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, and contractors externally.
  • Provide engineering support for pilot plant infrastructure.
  • Multi-task and work with supervisors to establish priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with ten or more years of experience.
  • Experience in scale-up and preparation of pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with pilot plant and kilo scale process equipment.
  • Knowledge of process/cleaning validation and equipment commissioning/qualification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated team player.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
