Job Summary:
The Privileged Access Management (PAM) Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of PAM solutions to safeguard critical systems and sensitive data. This role ensures that privileged accounts are effectively managed and monitored, and that access policies comply with internal and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Design & Implementation Deploy and configure PAM tools such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Delinea (Thycotic), or similar. Integrate PAM solutions with enterprise systems (Windows, Linux, databases, cloud environments). Automate account onboarding/offboarding and credential rotations.
Administration & Operations Monitor privileged sessions and generate reports on usage and anomalies. Maintain PAM vaults, password rotation policies, and session management tools. Perform regular health checks and upgrades for PAM infrastructure.
Security & Compliance Ensure privileged access adheres to company security policies, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, or other relevant compliance requirements. Work with auditors and compliance teams to produce evidence for access controls and user activity. Assist in risk assessments and vulnerability remediation related to privileged accounts.
Incident Response & Support Respond to and investigate PAM-related incidents and alerts. Support security operations during audits, breaches, and vulnerability management cycles. Provide Tier / support for access issues related to privileged accounts.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
+ years of hands-on experience with PAM tools like CyberArk, BeyondTrust, or Delinea.
Strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation.
Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Preferred: Certifications such as CyberArk Defender/Sentry, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
Experience with SIEM tools and integrating PAM logs into monitoring platforms.
Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and least privilege access principles.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
