The essential job responsibilities of the Private Long Term- Evolution Lead Engineer will report to the Supervisor. pLTE Lead Engineer focused on the planning, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and LTE networks, with specialized knowledge in Radio Access Network (RAN), and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching). This position requires professional with a deep understanding of PLTE technologies, Policies, Qos Strategy, and a proven track record of successfully integrating MPLS into telecommunications infrastructure. Lead the design and implementation of complex pLTE network architectures and solutions. Optimize network performance. Managing all aspects of the Evolved Packet Core (EPC). Knowledge of LTE protocols, architecture, and standards (e.g., 3GPP). Drive network innovation and evolution by evaluating emerging technologies and standards. Lead the deployment of pLTE network infrastructure, encompassing base stations, core network elements, and backhaul connections. Work collaboratively with diverse teams to implement pLTE solutions within specified project schedules and budgetary constraints. Enforce security protocols and practices, including assessing risks, controlling access, encrypting data, verifying identities, maintaining data integrity, monitoring activity, responding to incidents, ensuring compliance, establishing policies and quality of service (QoS). Aimed at protecting pLTE networks from harm and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of network assets and information. Having certification in the network industry or in pLTE technology would be advantageous. Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical network issues and provide expert-level support. Lead cross-functional teams in network planning, deployment, and optimization projects. Act as a subject matter expert in pLTE networking, providing training and mentorship to junior staff. Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and operational procedures. Provide strategic guidance to management on network architecture and technology roadmap. Write, prepare, review, and recommend technical specifications for all the Division’s telecommunication system. Coordinate with key personnel, governmental agencies, and contractors to resolve telecommunication issues. Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications Qualification Requirements:
To perform the Private Long Term- Evolution Lead Engineer role, you must:
- Tennessee Professional Engineer License. -Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Networking Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. -Experience in Telecommunications, pLTE Deployment, Wireless Networking, RF and Networking Engineering, MPLS, RF Engineering, Project management, and Security Implementation. -Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job. -Must have an occupationally significant combination of: ability to apply appropriate electric, gas, and water engineering principles/ methods; organizational ability to plan, formulate and carry out programs/ policies; written and oral communication skills; ability to relate to a diverse population; and mathematical ability. -Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.

Physical Working Conditions: Works in office majority of the time. Subject to construction hazards while making field inspections. Requires light lifting; some standing and walking; sitting at desk for long periods of time.
