Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team and help design and manage an enterprise software factory for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering within a DevSecOps environment, building hybrid cloud architectures (on-prem and AWS), and leading multi-stakeholder discussions. Additionally, the candidate should have significant experience in the integration of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Defense (CBRND) software systems and hardware. This role requires a self-starter who is ready to drive execution with a dedicated and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and manage an enterprise software factory tailored for a DoD customer.
Lead the development and implementation of hybrid cloud architectures, integrating on-premises infrastructure with AWS.
Drive the adoption and implementation of DevSecOps practices across the engineering team.
Facilitate and lead multi-stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Integrate CBRND software systems and hardware into the overall architecture, ensuring seamless interoperability and functionality.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Ensure compliance with DoD security standards and protocols.
Provide technical leadership and expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Significant prior experience in software engineering within a DevSecOps environment.
Proven experience in designing and implementing hybrid cloud architectures, including on-premises and AWS.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-stakeholder discussions and drive consensus.
Extensive experience with the integration of CBRND software systems and hardware.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and regulations.

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $217,400.00
