We are seeking a Principal Spacecraft Design Engineer for our client, a leader in on-orbit servicing solutions for U.S. government and commercial operators. This is a full-time, direct hire position based in Denver, Colorado.
Job Summary The Principal Spacecraft Design Engineer will lead the system-level design of satellite systems across all phases of a project. This includes requirement analysis, mission design, architecture trades, and managing technical risk to deliver integrated, mission-ready spacecraft solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver integrated satellite system solutions aligned with mission objectives Lead system-level design efforts including requirement analysis, sensitivity and mission analysis, and trade studies Oversee interface definitions and architectural trades for on-orbit servicing payloads Define, manage, and maintain systems engineering artifacts and technical baselines Act as primary technical liaison to the prime contractor Support cost, schedule, and risk management activities Ensure compliance with standards related to flight safety, launch, and licensing International travel (less than 25%) may be required
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in spacecraft engineering and operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role Strong understanding of satellite system life cycles and subsystem design Proven experience managing CONOPS, requirements, ICDs, and technical budgets Hands-on experience with on-orbit rendezvous and proximity operations (highly preferred) Familiarity with spacecraft environmental testing, launch, and commissioning Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math required; advanced degree preferred
Salary Range $165,000 – $205,000 annually, based on experience
