About the role:
As a Principal Fluid Systems Engineer you will you will be the first customer point of contact for the customer at Vogtle 3 and 4 Power Plants and act as the conduit between the customer and the Westinghouse design team supporting a variety of work.
You will report to the Engineering Manager of Nuclear Process & Power Conversion Systems and be located at Waynesboro, GA .
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the technical implementation of fluid system design and plant program support to meet schedule, cost, and sales objectives.
Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks that are assigned or innovated.
Plan and implement complex training programs to support Customer needs
Work with fellow engineering personnel to set objective and breakdown/resolve various design, analysis, and program efforts
Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management
Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings as needed to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs
Perform all work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements
Ability to be organized, effectively manage time, make data-based decisions, work independently, and communicate with plant management, WEC staff, and other stakeholders.
Promote a Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) and Westinghouse's strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear)
8+ years experience in the Nuclear industry
Experience working at a Nuclear Power Plant, testing, or construction facility
Experience with MathCad or MATLAB or VBA or similar program.
Familiarity with testing and testing analysis
Familiarity with ASME Section III
Familiarity with nuclear power plant licensing
Familiarity with fluid system and thermal-hydraulic design (pump, valve, heat-exchanger sizing, fluid network analyses)
Familiarity with the nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and BWRs and advanced reactors or AP1000.
Experience with design change control or requirements management
Desired Skills:
Professional Engineer License is preferred- Experience with Maximo (or similar work management tools), D2 and AP1000 plant design.
Experience with the Standard Design Process
Design and analysis experience with the Emergency Core Cooling System, Chemical & Volume Control System, Residual Heat Removal System, Reactor Coolant System, and Containment Spray System
Experience with ASME Section XI- Experience with MOV, AOV, and check valve programs.
Experience with HVAC
