Senior Electrical Engineer Job Summary: LAN Associates, Engineering Planning, Architecture Surveying, Inc. ("LAN") is a mid-sized multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team! This position provides an opportunity to develop new skills working on a variety of building projects and advance in their career. The candidate will be responsible for performing many electrical design and drafting tasks using prescribed methods and standard techniques. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work directly with clients and mentor junior staff. LAN offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a premier benefits package. Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities: Mentor and encourage the development of junior designer-level staff Coordinate and design various electric projects conforming to applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements Perform engineering-related tasks required for project development, design, and construction Prepare proposals and participate in the proposal submission process Collaborate with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, other consultants, etc., throughout the design phases of the building project Perform office construction administration, including review of shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and coordinating with contractors, design team, building officials, owner, etc., through the construction phase of the building project Assist/perform job site observations as necessary Assist with proposals, marketing, project reports, and technical presentations Assist with the scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks Develop and complete applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications Attend and conduct client and project meetings Attend various meetings, including pre-design, plan review, pre-construction, professional organization, staff, etc. Utilize electrical design calculations such as electrical loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, and voltage drop Calc load software experience Senior Electrical Engineer Required Qualifications: Minimum of 7+ years experience in an AEC industry (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) -10 years preferred Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT certification with goals of attaining PE licensure (NJ & NY Preferred) Proficient with computer-aided design and drafting software such as AutoCAD Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, electrical equipment standards, and building codes is required Must have external client-facing experience related to building project construction Previous experience mentoring a team of junior engineers Ability to read and understand construction documents including project plans, specifications, and shop drawings Strong ability to manage projects and teams, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments without direct supervision Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel for load calculations Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to perform local job site travel as needed (Up to 20% within the Tri-State Area) Senior Electrical Engineer Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience within an architectural and engineering firm REVIT experience is a plus Power analysis design software experience is a plus Similar job titles include: Electrical Project Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, Lead Electrical Engineer, Principal Electrical Engineer Who We Are: With almost 60 years of experience, LAN Associates is a full-service engineering, planning, architecture, and surveying firm responsible for over $250 million worth of construction per year.
