What is the role? The Principal Electrical Engineer, Avionics will play a critical role in the development and testing of avionics hardware for E-Space satellites. You will work collaboratively with an impressive team of engineers across multiple disciplines. You will participate in all aspects of electrical hardware development, from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing and production. As a Principal Electrical Engineer on the E-Space Avionics team, you will have frequent opportunities to test and operate your systems on-orbit.
What you will do Develop PCBA requirements in collaboration with other engineering disciplines
Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
Circuit analysis including power, tolerance and reliability
PCBA design verification testing and system integration testing
Production manufacturing support as needed
Why you're the right candidate You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
You have 15+ years of experience in electrical hardware design including schematic capture and PCB layout
You are proficient with processors, FPGAs, switch mode power supplies, high speed data interfaces and precision analog instrumentation
You have experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout of complex PCBs
You are proficient with performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel
You have experience with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.
You have demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment and ability to manage competing priorities
Additional experience we'd like to see Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Experience designing for space environments including radiation SEE/TID impacts and mitigation
RF and transmission line design and simulation skills
Experience designing rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarity
FPGA design skills
Embedded software development skills for ARM core processors
$150,000 - $220,000 a year
The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
