As we grow our solutions team, we’re looking for a talented and motivated Pre-Sales Engineer to support our clients and sales team with technical expertise and system design for complex LMR projects.

Position Overview

The LMR Pre-Sales Engineer will serve as a technical consultant and subject matter expert during the pre-sales process. You will work closely with sales representatives, field engineers, project managers, and customers to design and propose reliable, scalable radio communication solutions, including P25, DMR, and analog systems. Additionally, some surveillance camera and access control quoting may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to qualify opportunities and define technical solutions for LMR systems
  • Develop system designs, coverage predictions, and equipment proposals based on customer requirements
  • Create system diagrams, network topologies, and bill of materials
  • Present technical content and demonstrations to customers, including RFP responses and bid presentations
  • Conduct site surveys, RF propagation studies, and link budget analysis
  • Serve as a liaison between sales, field engineering, project management, and the customer
  • Stay current with LMR technologies, industry trends, and vendor offerings
  • Perform site survey and quoting for camera and access control projects

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in LMR communications (P25, DMR, analog, or trunked systems)
  • Desire to learn about surveillance cameras and access control
  • Strong knowledge of RF propagation, antenna systems, and network infrastructure
  • Experience with coverage prediction tools like EDX, iBwave, RadioMobile, or Motorola’s LinkPlanner is a plus
  • Understanding of public safety requirements, NFPA/UL standards, or DAS/BDA regulations desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics or related field preferred
  • Certifications such as ETA, FCC GROL, or manufacturer training (Motorola, Harris, BK, Tait) are a plus
