Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Pourline Process Engineer to join their team. We're looking for a driven Pourline Process Engineer to optimize our daily production and ensure the efficiency and health of our pourline operations. Reporting directly to the Pourline Process Manager, you'll play a critical role in maximizing yield, maintaining process integrity, and driving continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a chemical or mechanical engineering graduate, or a manufacturing professional with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in the polymer industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization: Modify production schedules and processes to maximize yield and efficiency.

  • Process Health: Conduct daily process checks and support maintenance efforts to ensure overall process health.

  • System Development: Design and implement new machinery and process systems, and update existing reporting for new methods and products.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements that enhance performance and quality.

  • Documentation & Training: Write and update standard operating procedures and train personnel on new processes and changes.

  • Formulation Development: Develop and modify foam formulations to meet evolving customer and organizational specifications.

  • Quality & Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations, utilize provided safety equipment, and uphold ISO 9001 requirements and our Quality Policy.

  • Workplace Excellence: Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles.

  • Team Collaboration: Cross-train in other positions as needed to support team flexibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, OR at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, with a preference for experience in the polymer industry.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, including algebra, transport phenomena, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. Ability to analyze production data for yields, usages, and key process indicators.

  • A logical, fact-based approach to problem-solving and decision-making, applying higher engineering theory and practice.

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills; ability to interpret technical documents, safety rules, and operational procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • This role involves frequent standing, walking, and use of hands for handling and feeling. You'll regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While the noise level is typically moderate, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock risk, and vibration may occur.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time position, typically 8 hours per day, 5 days per week on an assigned shift. Flexibility to work altered hours, including overtime, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, is essential based on business needs.
