Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems for Tesla facilities
- Drive the project initiation phase by collaborating with a variety of teams to define scope, design criteria, schedule and cost
- Develop construction-ready documentation including drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Perform system sizing, pipe routing, and pressure loss calculations for domestic water, sanitary, storm, and fire protection systems
- Ensure all designs are compliant with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, and local jurisdictional requirements
- Support construction activities including submittal review, RFI responses, and field surveys
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States
- 6+ years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design, with a strong focus on commercial and manufacturing projects
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from kickoff through construction-level design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation tools
- Strong knowledge of building codes, design standards, and industry best practices
- Experience with high-purity water, process piping, or specialty systems used in industrial environments
