The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer position.
As a Platform Engineer at NIPR, you will be a key technical contributor responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient solutions within our Salesforce platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enhancements, integrations, and automation that improve business workflows and user experience across the organization. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong hands-on Salesforce development experience and a passion for modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
This is a full-time, remote position.
Responsibilities:
Partner with product owners and platform leadership to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions for Salesforce.
Develop and maintain unit tests and participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards
Strong hands-on skills with Apex, LWC, and Salesforce configuration.
Lead and support the integration of Salesforce with external systems and APIs.
Build and maintain custom automation using Salesforce tools (e.g., Flow) as needed to support internal processes, often taking ownership of solution design to drive efficiency.
Provide level-of-effort estimates for technical work and contribute to sprint planning.
Ensure platform security, compliance, and performance are maintained in line with organizational standards.
Collaborate with teammates to support CI/CD practices, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code concepts as they relate to Salesforce development and deployment.
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes.
Write clear documentation and support materials for internal users and developers.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and contribute to root cause analysis efforts.
Minimum education and/or experience required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development.
Proficient in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL.
Experience with Salesforce integration (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, platform events).
Experience with Salesforce Clouds (e.g. Sales cloud, Service cloud and Experience cloud)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, SFDX).
Experience with tools like Gearset for Salesforce release management.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience:
Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification.
Experience with modern dev tools (e.g., IntelliJ, VS Code with Salesforce Extensions).
Familiarity with AWS Connect or similar cloud contact center platforms.
Exposure to broader platform engineering concepts (e.g., IaC, automation, containers) is a plus.
Compensation:
Starting at $105,000, up to $125,000. To be commensurate with education and experience.
