Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a position based in San Antonio, Texas , to lead the design and implementation of innovative, energy-efficient power and lighting distribution systems with a focus on sustainability. The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and alignment with our client's core values.
In this role, the Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with a dedicated team, manage project development, and deliver transformative solutions that exceed client expectations. This position will also include leading and supervising CNG team members, as well as participating in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
Note: The selected candidate must submit to a criminal background check, education verification, and drug test.
Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the Engineer of Record for the electrical discipline.
Provide overall direction to the design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis.
Design branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities.
Design overall power distribution systems.
Perform calculations to support system designs.
Execute Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including submittal/shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, and attendance at CA meetings.
Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and perform field observations.
Manage assigned projects, coordinating and directing the design team throughout the project lifecycle.
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Lead design and construction meetings.
Mentor junior team members and assign tasks to design staff.
Conduct periodic, objective, and comprehensive employee check-ins in support of annual performance reviews.
Prepare and monitor contracts, fee proposals, and participate in contract negotiations.
Collaborate with the Business Development team to build relationships and foster repeat business.
Perform other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Current Professional Engineering (PE) License .
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer.
Ability to obtain Professional Licensure in the State of Texas .
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Design, specifically in the Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors.
At least 7 years of experience managing MEP Design projects.
Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience.
At least 3 years of Supervisory experience directly overseeing an MEP design team.
A valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check.
