Position: Opto-Mechanical Engineer – Semiconductor R&D
Location: San Jose, CA
Compensation: $160,000–$200,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits + Paid Relocation

What You’ll Do
Design & Develop : Define, prototype, and launch advanced opto-mechanical systems for our new metrology platform.
Innovate : Research emerging technologies and translate high-level ideas into practical, high-impact solutions.
Lead Technical Direction : Make critical design decisions that shape product architecture and deliver measurable customer value.
Integrate Systems : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring together lasers, polarizing optics, fiber optics, precision mechanics, and electronics.
Optimize Manufacturing : Define tooling and processes to support volume production alongside product development.
Requirements
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering , Optical Engineering , Physics , or related field
7+ years of experience in precision mechanical design and product development
Track record of moving designs from concept to volume production
Expertise in at least one of: kinematic design , precision optics , vacuum systems , adhesives , or high-precision machining
Strong skills with CAD and FEA tools (preferably Siemens NX and ANSYS)
Self-driven and organized, with a history of delivering on schedule
Excellent communicator and collaborator across technical and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with opto-mechanical systems such as lasers, interferometers, or collimators
Familiarity with optical design and ray tracing software (Zemax, FRED, or equivalent)
Background in semiconductor capital equipment or precision motion control
