Job Title: Network & Communication Systems Engineer (C-UAS)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

NETWORK AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Join Crossflow Technologies, Inc. in Huntsville and play a critical role in protecting our nation's airspace by designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge network and communication systems for Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS). As a CUAS Network & Communication Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, tackling complex challenges in network security, real-time data processing, and RF communication. Your expertise will directly contribute to the effectiveness and security of our CUAS solutions.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Design, develop, test and deploy secure network architectures for CUAS
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and
  • Develop and implement communication systems, including voice, data, and video
  • Integrate CUAS sensors and communication systems into existing
  • Monitor network and communication system performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to include troubleshoot and resolve communication system issues during integration and testing, using signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment.
  • Conduct RF interference analysis and optimize wireless (Mobile Ad Hoc Network, Point-to-point, Combat Net Radios, etc.) communication systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Including systems engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure integration of secure data transmission.
  • Support CUAS software and hardware integration

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering, communication systems, or cybersecurity, with at least 5 years of experience focused on secure communication systems within a defense or highly regulated environment. A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with CUAS or related military defense systems is highly desired.
  • Expert-level proficiency in TCP/IP networking, including subnetting, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and network security best practices. Extensive experience configuring and troubleshooting VPNs (e.g., IPsec), firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA).
  • Strong understanding of communication theory, modulation techniques (e.g., QPSK, QAM), coding scheme, and multiple access techniques (e.g., TDMA, FDMA).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with RF testing and characterization of communication subsystems using signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of RF signal processing and wireless
  • Experience with satellite and radio communication
  • Familiarity with AI-driven threat
  • Experience with CUAS technologies or military defense systems is a plus.

401(k) RETIREMENT PLAN & COMPANY MATCHING
Crossflow uses Principal as our 401(k) plan sponsor. Employees can choose payroll deduction and fund investing options. Payroll deductions will begin the month following your enrollment. Crossflow matches 100% of the first 3% of compensation, plus 50% of the next 2% of compensation.

Crossflow offers education assistance to benefit-eligible employees for degree programs at their director's discretion. Crossflow feels that a well-rounded education, even outside of an employee's current role, can enhance an employee's skillset and increase the company's value.

GENEROUS PTO ACCRUAL & FLEXIBLE LEAVE POLICY
Crossflow currently grants 11 federally observed paid holidays. In addition to these holidays, Crossflow offers a minimum of 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) to all full-time employees. Employees may utilize PTO for any reason (sickness, vacation, personal day, etc.) and can carry over a maximum of 120 hours from year to year. Many employees are authorized to work additional hours within a normal, forty-hour pay period. This approval is included in the employee's offer letter for employment. These extra hours may be banked for compensatory (comp) time off.

PAID PARENTAL & BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
To help our employees be present with family during major life events, Crossflow provides additional PTO. We offer varying types of paid Parental Leave to aid birthing, non-birthing, and adoptive parents transition into parenthood. Crossflow also recognizes the importance of supporting employees who endure a death in their family by providing up to 5 days of paid Bereavement Leave a year.
