Were seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong foundation in aerospace systems,
particularly unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or manned aircraft applications. This role supports
the design, integration, and testing of sensor systems that blend mechanical , software , and
networking disciplines.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience , including internships, and be
comfortable working in a remote , self-organizing team environment. Youll be supporting
senior engineers across multiple active programs, helping to shape cutting-edge technology used
in national defense and geospatial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide mechanical design support for aerospace sensor systems and related technologies
Develop CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
Support ground, bench, and flight testing of systems
Perform feasibility studies and trade-space analyses
Reduce and analyze test data and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Collaborate with software developers and data engineers to support integrated systems
Contribute to the development and maintenance of networked data systems (servers, cloud, and localized devices)
Author white papers, technical reports, and customer-facing documentation
Participate in business development efforts, including proposal development and pipeline research
Travel as needed to support testing, integration, or customer engagement
Qualifications
Required:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; Masters preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience (including no more than 2 years of internships) in mechanical engineering roles supporting integrated systems
Aerospace experience with unmanned or manned aircraft systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks and MATLAB; experience with programming (C++ or C#) a plus
Familiarity with data/network architectures and cloud-based systems
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting
U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance (up to TS/SCI)
Preferred:
Experience working with sensor systems in aviation or geospatial environments
Familiarity with Agile development practices or pair programming
Knowledge of defense or government acquisition processes
