Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Mechanical Engineer role in Eugene. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with production, fabrication, assembly, project management, and sales teams to design, develop, and refine mechanical systems and components for industrial applications.
Lead all phases of the product development life cycle, including concept development, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, work instruction creation, tooling, drawing generation, production release, and ongoing support.
Conduct feasibility assessments by evaluating design proposals, specifications, and technical data to determine cost, feasibility, and maintenance requirements.
Develop and execute qualification test plans, including static and dynamic testing, and prepare detailed test reports.
Suggest improvements to existing quality production standards to optimize performance while aligning with equipment capabilities.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all engineering activities and project progress.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper use of tools, machinery, safety equipment, and attire to maintain a safe workplace.
Adhere to relevant Company Quality System Manual and Operations Manual procedures and updates.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional technical writing skills.
Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes, particularly with metals, composites, and plastics.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally handle moderately heavy objects with team assistance for items over 50 lbs.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in composite design and tooling is advantageous.
Familiarity with CAD drawing layout and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Experience as a manufacturing engineer is a valuable asset.
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems is a desirable qualification.
