Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for complex mechanical systems, including: HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, fuel and gas distribution, utility systems, and control systems. Support new construction and renovation projects for various large-scale facilities such as offices, plants, labs, and industrial buildings. Ensure coordination and integration of mechanical systems with other engineering disciplines. Participate in planning meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions. Project Scope Includes: Design of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Piping and instrumentation, energy efficiency upgrades, and renewable energy systems. Large utility infrastructure, air and water quality systems, and process piping. Integration of safety and security features into mechanical system designs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Minimum 5 years of mechanical systems design experience. At least 1 year of experience on capital improvement projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Required Knowledge and Skills: Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including: ASME, ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IPC, IBC, and SMACNA. Proficiency with design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, engineering analysis programs). Ability to collaborate across disciplines and manage technical project elements. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting. Experience leading or coordinating engineering teams. Knowledge and application of workplace safety practices and PPE.
