Whitman, Requardt & Associates is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic Building Design Group in Richmond, VA. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be a key player in completing the design and construction administration for small to medium-sized projects, as well as collaborating within larger design teams for substantial projects. We are looking for a mechanical engineer with knowledge of various mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing.

Responsibilities: Construction Documentation: Develop plans, sections, schedules, details, controls, cost estimates, and specifications for mechanical systems. Engineering Design Analysis: Conduct mechanical system selection, energy and life cycle cost analysis, and ensure designs meet energy and sustainable design targets. Team Engagement: Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Technical Expertise: Develop calculations, system concepts, layouts, and designs. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred. 3-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the consulting industry. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. U.S. Citizen is mandatory Skills and Qualifications: Proficient knowledge of a variety of mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing. Familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with project stakeholders. Strong interdisciplinary coordination skills. Benefits:
