Overview: . The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with two other engineers, as part of the Mechanical Design Team. Together they will complete all mechanical design work needed to fabricate custom heavy machinery for the oil and gas industry, while generating detailed 3D models in Autodesk Inventor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review customer and vendor specifications.
  • Generate initial design and modeling for all industrial and energy packages.
  • Assist team members in the design, modeling, and modification of piping systems, vessels, and steel structures based on required specifications, applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Assist team members with 3rd party firms conducting acoustic, mechanical, and torsional analysis.
  • Assist team members with sourcing equipment from vendors.
  • Participate in project design reviews, specification reviews, and engineering standards meetings.
  • Provide support to Production and Supply Chain departments when needed.
  • Provide technical support to Dearing shop personal when needed.
  • Participate in customer visits, shop tours, test runs, and conference calls.
Education / Experience                                                 
  • Preferred - Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferred - Experience in heavy machinery and/or oil and gas industries
  • Experience in parametric 3D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Catia, etc.)
Competencies                                            
  • Ability to read and interpret dimensional drawings and specifications. 
  • Ability to write technical reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • It is required to work on-site in Youngstown, Ohio.
