Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer IV will serve as a senior mechanical design engineer focused on the design, development, and deployment of precision motion systems and custom tooling/fixturing for manufacturing. This position emphasizes precision engineering principles and hands-on mechanical support for installation, start-up, and debugging of manufacturing equipment. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure delivery of robust, high-performance equipment.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop detailed mechanical designs for precision motion systems and custom tooling.^Lead all phases of the equipment lifecycle including design, vendor engagement, build, and debug.^Provide hands-on support for installation and start-up of fiber/connector manufacturing equipment.^Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.^Apply principles of mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design in daily work.^Travel to CLient locations (mainly NY and NC) as needed for project work.^Independently determine and develop approaches to design challenges.^Verify equipment layout and functionality against design specifications.^Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical installation or build discrepancies in collaboration with engineers and vendors.
