RCI Offroad is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer II to contribute to the design and development of innovative off-road products. In this role, you will apply your engineering expertise to create high-quality designs, conduct analysis and testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring exciting new products to market. The ideal candidate possesses a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in SolidWorks, and a passion for the off-road industry. This is a full-time, on-site position in Loveland, Colorado, offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Design and develop components and assemblies for off-road vehicle accessories, utilizing SolidWorks to create 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical specifications.
Conduct engineering analysis (e.g., stress analysis, tolerance analysis) to ensure product performance, durability, and safety.
Participate in prototyping and testing activities to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
Design Standards and Leadership: Develop and/or maintain design standards for an assigned RCI product category.
Ensure current and future products within the category align with established standards.
Communicate to the leadership team when a product does not meet RCI standards and develop a plan to bring the product into alignment.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned category, responsible for all final design decisions at the final design review.
Lead the Project Spec/Project kick-off meetings for new products in the assigned category.
Mentorship and Guidance: Act as a mentor to an Engineer I or Engineering Technician, providing technical guidance and support.
Provide leadership and guidance to the engineering team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
Contribute to the development of installation instructions and other customer-facing materials.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure seamless product development.
Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Problem Solving and Innovation: Analyze technical challenges and develop creative solutions to overcome design obstacles.
Identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and competitive products.
Requirements Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3-7 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the automotive or off-road industry.
Proficiency in SolidWorks with a solid understanding of GD&T and drawing standards.
Experience with engineering analysis tools and techniques.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for off-road vehicles and the off-road lifestyle is a plus.
