We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of industrial plastics processing equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is experienced with 3D modeling and design for manufacturing. You’ll be involved in projects from concept through production, working with custom machinery used in industrial manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
Create and revise 3D models and detailed drawings for manufacturing
Manage and organize design files using PDM (Product Data Management) software
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, machining, and electrical engineering
Participate in product improvement initiatives and custom machine builds
Provide technical support during fabrication, testing, and assembly
Requirements:
Required:
3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a manufacturing or equipment-building environment
Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with PDM tools
Knowledge of machining, fabrication processes, and tolerancing
Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience with design of custom machinery or plastics processing equipment
Understanding of mechanical systems such as pneumatics, gears, bearings, etc.
