• Design, specify, and test automated packaging systems including flexible film handling, heat sealing, conveyors, product handling, and weighing systems.
• Create and manage detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks and INFOR CRM.
• Perform engineering calculations (load, stress, mass balance, etc.) to validate design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and sales to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Conduct on-floor quality checks and provide technical support to resolve performance or configuration issues.
• Select mechanical components and materials, and ensure designs meet industry standards for food packaging and washdown environments.
• Automate and streamline design tasks using Excel macros and custom reporting tools.
• Lead or support special projects aligned with department and company goals.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in capital equipment design and development.
• 510 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, preferably in food packaging or industrial automation.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD systems such as Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Experience with BOM creation and ERP/CRM systems (e.g., INFOR).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes, component sourcing, and system integration.
• Proficiency in Excel (including macro creation), MS Word, PowerPoint, and project documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 10%, including international travel.
