Job Description
About Revive Environmental:
Revive Environmental, a clean technology spin-out from Battelle Memorial Institute, is at the forefront of environmental technology, specializing in innovative solutions for the treatment of toxic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) using supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technologies. Revive Environmental operates a wastewater treatment as a service business model, which means we take a customer's waste project (one-time or continuous) and deliver a closed loop PFAS destruction service. We do not stop until we provide a documented proof of destruction of the contaminant in question. Committed to sustainability and excellence, we lead the industry in providing advanced PFAS treatment solutions while upholding values of integrity, collaboration, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellence.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Mechanical and Piping Engineer to support our efforts in the destruction of PFAS using SCWO. Candidates with considerable experience will be considered at the senior level.
You'll lead the design of high-pressure mechanical and process piping systems, oversee fabrication and testing, and drive operational improvements. Your expertise will directly support Revive's mission of expanding reliable, scalable PFAS treatment services.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation
- Design mechanical systems and SCWO process piping.
- Support fabrication and assembly, including fabrication partner coordination.
- Apply expertise in metallurgy, corrosion, and pressure vessel design.
Operations & Optimization
- Troubleshoot and improve system performance through data analysis and field feedback.
- Ensure operational safety and integrate continuous improvements.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
- Clearly document and communicate technical findings and system requirements.
Support Functions
- Assist in procurement and vendor selection.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and institutional knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally with high-pressure systems or environmental treatment technologies.
- Strong grasp of mechanical design principles, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials selection.
- Experience with CAD and ability to produce quality documentation including 3D mechanical drawings, schematics, and models.
- Hands-on experience in system commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in industrial environments.
- Must be a U.S. Person under export control laws.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SCWO and PFAS treatment technologies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Six Sigma certification or process improvement experience.
