Description Verdox, Inc. is dedicated to reversing climate change through the development and deployment of advanced technology.  The company’s proprietary electro-swing process, developed at MIT, enables carbon dioxide and other acid gasses to be captured with up to 80% less energy and 70% less cost than conventional approaches.  Verdox is backed by institutional investors and based in Boston.
Verdox seeks a Materials Scientist/Engineer to join our R&D team.  This position reports to the Formulation Scientist. Key Responsibilities Iteratively design, develop and execute novel and scalable formulations guided by materials understanding, structure-property relationships, and functional data Build structure/property correlations with functional data and materials properties, to guide innovation Develop and execute scalable coating techniques towards the continuous manufacturing of large-area conductive coatings
Skills Knowledge and Expertise Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, with at least 2-5 years of industry experience Deep understanding of polymer structure/property relationships and behavior in solution and solid state Basic understanding of electrochemistry, electronic and ionically conducting materials is highly desirable Proficiency in polymer characterization (solution, solid state) is required, and expertise in characterization of porous materials is highly desirable Demonstrated track record of interdisciplinary research Strong oral and written communication skills Keen attention to detail Background in data analysis and statistics strongly desirable Comfortable working in an evolutionary and dynamic startup environment
