About the Role:
We are seeking a Materials Engineer to support our R&D and manufacturing engineering teams, with a strong focus on bonding and brazing ceramics to metal, materials troubleshooting, and applied materials development. This is a highly technical, hands-on role that demands creativity, tenacity, and deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead materials R&D and prototype development for new products and applications
Troubleshoot complex bonding and brazing issues, especially involving ceramics and dissimilar materials
Work hands-on with materials, tools, and processes including machining, metrology, and thermal equipment
Conduct root cause analysis when materials or processes fail to perform as expected
Operate and analyze data from scientific test equipment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into process solutions
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in materials engineering or process development
Strong knowledge of materials chemistry and metallurgy
Experience with bonding and brazing, particularly to ceramic substrates
Skilled in operating and interpreting results from metrology tools, including CMMs
Experience with machining processes and tools
Comfortable using or learning tools like Keyence systems and dilatometry equipment
Passion for hands-on problem solving and experimentation
