Manufacturing Equipment Engineer

- Work with our team of talented and motivated engineers and designers to develop mechanisms and machines for robotic stitching. We develop machines from concept through production and installation
- Assist with generating machine concepts in CAD
- Direct the application of machine design standards, such as GD&T, slip fits, press fits, thread engagement, gear selections, pullies, mechanisms, etc.
- Perform simulation analyses
- Work with our designers to detail designs and make production drawings
- Manage machine builds and direct suppliers
- Assist with installation/startup/testing/debug/runoff of sewing heads on bench builds and in robot cells
- Deliver technology projects per our development procedures, leading technical reviews and project gate reviews
- Participate in developing & compiling machine BOM's and operator manuals covering operation, adjustment, service, and troubleshooting for new machine designs
- Participate in assessing feasibility of new product designs vis--vis our machines
- Communicate with engineering and design teams using Zoom, Teams, written communication, and presentation materials
- Travel is required both domestically and internationally to support the business, normally about 5% and up to 30% during deployments, although this is an estimation and may increase or decrease depending on the needs of the business.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
- 3+ yrs. experience with machine engineering & building
- Proficiency in Catia, NX, SolidWorks, and/or Creo software
- Experience specifying GD&T
- Understanding of metal material selection and specifications for machines
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks
- Excellent written & oral communication skills in English
- Good presentations skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Positive attitude and willing to work hard with teams and deliver desired results.
PREFERRED:
- Basic knowledge of sewing machine mechanisms and construction
- Competency in Siemens Teamcenter
- Proficiency in solid modeling, surface design, and drawing skills
Education Requirement
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering ; preferred concentration in machine design
