We are currently hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Caribou location. This position will support design and production in the release of new designs to production and in ongoing manufacturing operations for established designs.
Duties / Responsibilities
Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Porvair’s Quality Management System
Create detailed bills of materials and manufacturing instructions in accordance with design documentation
Write detailed manufacturing process specifications and build procedures
Support production through equipment repair, maintenance, and upgrades
Design tooling and fixtures to enhance efficiency and first pass yield
Generate and validate machine programs
Devise, detail, and implement production process improvements to support increases in capacity and efficiency
Specify and justify capital investment in new production equipment
Manage commissioning of new production equipment, including machine validation and production of specific user instruction as required
Provide input for design for manufacturing, including advice on manufacturing methods, as well as process failure mode and effects analysis
Aid in production readiness assessments to ensure successful production efforts on new and revised designs
Aid in the commissioning of new manufacturing lines as required
Support tooling life and configuration control
Qualifications / Training Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline, or equivalent
Ability to work in an ISO9001 controlled production environment (AS9100 preferred)
Working knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of engineering drawing creation and interpretation
Experience in mechanical system design
Experience using basic machining equipment (mill, lathe)
Experience or familiarity with ERP software such as SYSPRO or equivalent
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as: machining, welding, sintering, heat treatments, and passivation
Strong social and communication skills both verbal and written
