Description: Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing/Engineering
SUMMARY: Work on manufacturing floor to improve processes and workflow. Learn and understand (setup and creation) current ERP system for routings and BOM. Mechanical aptitude with ability to repair and assist in maintaining manufacturing equipment. Uses CAD equipment to prepare plant layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Solid understanding of techniques and familiarity with Engineering terminology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : includes the following: Continue efforts in making shop floor efficient and introducing lean principles. Update and maintain product data in production databases. Have sense of urgency to fix, maintain, improve manufacturing equipment and processes. Uses computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks CAD) equipment and software to develop product improvements. Continually update CNC programs for efficiency, model changes, to meet manufacturing demand. Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings). Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Create and Maintain shop floor & Customer product instructions. Create and Maintain product jig & fixtures. Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings. Communicate with Tooling, QA, Engineering, and Manufacturing regarding new and revised products. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, assembly instructions and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: High skill level in SolidWorks CAD software. Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
