Position Summary A leading manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on, self-starting Manufacturing Engineer to lead improvement projects and support daily production operations. This role is heavily focused on problem-solving on the production floor, requiring a strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies. The ideal candidate will be a front-line engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, works independently, and is passionate about driving process improvements and cost reductions across their designated area of the plant. Key Responsibilities Own and manage a designated area of the production floor.
Serve as the primary technical contact for daily production, mechanical, quality, and safety issues.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production-related challenges.
Drive and implement process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Lead and support capital projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to improve throughput and uptime.
Mentor junior engineers and assist with technical development across the team.
Develop and apply standard operating procedures and best practices across processes.
Regularly use tools such as SolidWorks, Minitab, AutoCAD, MATLAB, and other engineering software to evaluate and improve processes.
Participate in and lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement activities.
Maintain accurate project documentation, provide regular progress updates, and ensure timely project completion within budget.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering within a high-paced production environment.
Strong understanding and practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
Proven experience with root cause analysis and implementing effective countermeasures.
Proficient in engineering tools such as SolidWorks, Minitab, MATLAB, LabView, AutoCAD.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP is a plus.
Experience with FMEA and structured problem-solving methodologies is a plus.
