We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Technician to join our Strategic Manufacturing team.
Responsibilities in this role will be integral to our plant expansion and new product bay layout, supporting Capital Expense project implementation, machine installation, equipment fixtures, and process improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on fabrication skills, and a desire to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
Serve as a hands-on support function for new product and existing bay process areas
Fabrication of work areas, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in part and assembly fabrication
Become familiar with our manufacturing processes and help track custom part orders through the facility
Identification, Installation, Startup and Qualification of new equipment and technology
Contribute to new product ideas and designs, focused on Design for Manufacturability
Calculate production costs that include equipment, time, and labor
Support assembly and testing of engineering prototypes and manufacturing fixtures
Support our First Article process and Engineering part orders
Collaborate with multiple manufacturing sites to maintain consistency in process and equipment
Qualified candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
Associates Degree or Vocational training in a related Technical Field including Mechanical Engineering, welding, Construction, or similar.
Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of relevant work experience: Welding and Carpentry Skills
Sheet metal fabrication
Press Brake Operation
Drill Presses (Tap and Die)
Lathes and Milling Machines
Large Equipment installations
Tools and Shop organization
Demonstrable skills in fabricating, welding, machining, and basic metalworking
Proficient in effectively using and interpreting part/machine/process layout drawings
Demonstrated computer skills and willingness to learn ERP and production scheduling software including Autodesk and MS Office products
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineering, production associates, supervisors, and plant management
Be dedicated, self-initiating, and passionate about metal fabrication
Independently manage time and prioritize tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
