Job Summary : The Manufacturing Engineer Technician provides the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to optimize safety, quality and efficiency of manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for ongoing development and improvement of manufacturing processes and product quality. This position will work with production to identify areas for improvement and to ensure plans are implemented.
Essential Duties:
Write and edit work instructions and related process documentation
Provide training and production support to manufacturing operations for new products
Provide support to staff as needed on work instructions, engineering change orders and preventative maintenance
Support Operations, Quality, and Product Engineering to assure timely production support, problem solving and with LEAN initiatives.
Conduct and/or verify time studies
Conduct Weld Test for interview candidates
Create Standard Work documentation for manufacturing operations
Work with Manufacturing and Product Engineering through prototyping, first runs, tooling and process optimization
Support New Product Development activities including Bill of Material and Routing verification
Assist with new equipment installation, qualification, and run-off
Assist maintenance with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance routines
Act as a backup for maintenance and metals when short staffed
Track production efficiency statistics in major work centers
Conduct new part or 1st run inspections to verify product quality
Assist with the investigation and implementation of continuous improvement projects using cross functional teams with a concentration in workflow optimization
All other duties as assigned

Ability to work in cross functional teams with people from various departments and at all levels of the organization

Strong analytical ability and initiative to assess and solve problems by using a data driven approach and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP software
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear. Must use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop and reach above shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds on occasion. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Requirements:
3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
Production experience with sheet metal, tubing, welding and mechanics assemblies
3 years of experience reading and working with blueprints
Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles,
CAD experience,
