Education, Experience & Skills:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing welded products Must be a US Citizen or have a valid green card Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels Working knowledge of forging and heat treatment processes (carbon, low alloy, and stainless steels) Working knowledge of cladding, fabrication welding, and NDE (including strengths and limitations) Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Valid Drivers License Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-related field 3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing setting Six Sigma certification, TOC, or formal lean manufacturing training is a plus ERP system proficiency and experience with job scheduling tools Experience managing CAPEX and internal process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineering Analyze and improve existing manufacturing, welding, and inspection processes to increase throughput, efficiency and product quality. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and 5S principles. Drive the implementation of standard work practices and visual management tools to reduce waste and increase consistency. Partner with Quality and Sales to evaluate and qualify new and existing vendors Participate in internal CAPEX and process development projects to support operational goals. Provide technical guidance and act as a backup to other engineering roles as needed. Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all technical processes and updates. Project Management Serve as Project Manager for assigned internal and external projects, from estimating to execution and close-out. Create work orders within the ERP system with clear production and vendor instructions. Build and manage detailed project schedules and budgets aligned with customer requirements. Monitor project performance and provide timely updates to management and customers. Act as the primary point of contact between C&J Cladding and project stakeholders Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to meet project goals and timelines. General & Cross-Functional Responsibilities Maintain a near-perfect quality and attendance record. Demonstrate self-motivation and accountability with a focus on continuous improvement. Proactively suggest changes to work instructions and production processes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work collaboratively across departments including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Management Promote and adhere to company safety programs, procedures, and policies. Act as a backup resource to other engineering and operational roles as needed. Be available for flexible scheduling and travel as needed to support project or customer needs.
