Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer – Cable & Harness to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director, Advanced Modules the Manufacturing Engineer – Cable & Harness will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role will be supporting manufacturing issues on existing product designs and new satellite mechanisms early in the design phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input, and supporting testing of these assemblies while developing and implementing the plan to move from design/test into build/production.
This role is on our Weekend shift (Friday - Sunday) from 6:00AM - 7:00PM
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support the design and improvement of the harness production floor layout, as it relates to manufacturing with an eye for scaling with time and product evolution.
Develop production procedures/processes and manage the transition of harnesses from development to production.
Support team in production readiness reviews
Supports, contributes to, and manages product throughput in coordination with planning and supervisor
Advise team members on technical decisions related to the team’s product and act as a responsible manufacturing engineer for work instructions
Resolve and analyze manufacturing and test discrepancies, while interfacing with the quality team (resolving issues for design, fabrication, and assembly).
Drive continuous process improvements to focus on cost reduction in every element of the harness production processes.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with existing processes or products and make necessary modifications and improvements.
Support harness testing, including tooling design and data analysis.
Support Harness assembly non-conformance disposition and tracking
Work with Harness Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to identify and communicate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) issues
Work with Engineering teams to communicate Harness Assembly and Fabrication issues
Compile and report product and process yield results and recommend improvement actions as applicable
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related discipline.
Cumulative work experience/expertise in Harness manufacturing and rework may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Highly self-motivated and organized with strong written and oral communication skills
Able to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers
Demonstrated experience working in a highly adaptive and iterative environment.
Demonstrated achievements of rapidly improving production through process improvements while focusing on product reliability and mission success.
Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly and reliability.
Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620 industry specification.
Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Salary Range $85,000-$120,000
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
