Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Design Engineer to support aerospace and defense tooling programs through mechanical design and drafting work. This position involves concept development, 3D modeling, detailed 2D drafting, and bill of materials preparation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Aerospace & Defense tooling, both on the floor and on computer, and be proficient in CATIA V5.
Responsibilities
- Work with Client PE on design of Fixed Assembly Jig and hard tooling for aerospace industry.
- Perform clean-sheet 3D mechanical designs for aerospace/defense tooling/structures.
- Develop models and drawings based on prior or reference designs as needed.
- Generate complete and production-ready 3D CAD assemblies.
- Create 2D engineering drawings according to client-provided drafting standards.
- Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and documentation to support fabrication and assembly.
- Apply practical engineering knowledge to tooling concepts and design solutions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and drafting teams to ensure design manufacturability.
- Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5.
- Strong familiarity with mechanical drafting practices, drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ISO, and ANSI standards and design safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in aerospace/defense tooling.
- US Person.
The role involves working in both office and on-floor settings, utilizing advanced design software such as CATIA V5. This position requires adherence to safety protocols and standards in a structured environment, with collaborative efforts between manufacturing and drafting teams to ensure designs are production-ready.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
