Description As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with highly skilled engineers and scientists to enhance Apple Maps. This role requires a self-motivated engineer/scientist with strong technical and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include converting high-level goals into concrete requirements, proposing, implementing, evaluating, and deploying AI/ML technologies, and collaborating with partners including engineering teams and designers to architect optimal systems.
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience in building large-scale machine learning systems
2+ years in ML areas such as generative AI models (Transformers, LLMs, VLMs), NLP, or Computer Vision
Understanding of machine learning algorithms, supervised and unsupervised techniques, and performance metrics
Experience with large-scale, real-world datasets
Knowledge of deep learning, computer vision, topic modeling, graph algorithms is a plus
Focus on metrics and delivering high-quality models
Strong programming skills with tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn; proficiency in Scala, Python, Java, or C++
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Solr/Lucene, Cassandra
Preferred Qualifications Masters or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related fields
Experience with multi-modal foundation models and state-of-the-art approaches
Experience deploying complex AI systems, including research and generative AI models
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
